A 42 or 45 rpi and in the Valley probably guarantees you are NOT in. Has any team in the Valley with an RPI that low ever made it in at large?

I wonder if that RPI is accurate....I don't know, but that seems awfully high to me. Even if it is accurate, RPI is one of many factors in deciding the field. Missouri State (then SMS) got left out with an RPI of 21 in 2006. I'd say that WSU has less than a 10% chance of getting into the NCAA field.

Edit.......I just checked realtimerpi.com, and they have WSU 45th in RPI. Still, a longshot at best.

UNI winning their 3 games by 15, 17, and 15 points tells as much about the Valley being a one bid league as anything else. If anyone wants to qualify for the NCAA tournament, please do so by winning more games. It sure wasn't Drake's responsibility to lose in '08 for 2 teams to get in, and it sure wasn't UNI's responsibility to lose today.

It amazes me the Bulldogs did'nt score for 20 minutes against UNI and ended up doing as well as any other team against UNI at the tournament. I wish we could have kept pushing it against them.

I wish the Valley referees would actually call fouls. They never did on SIU back in the day when they were dominating, and UNIs physical defense is really the key to their success. Unlike the old SIU teams, they won't have their athleticism to bail them out in the tournament.

Its interesting to see what happens when a team pushes the ball against UNI - the Panthers can't keep up. UNI isn't a very good team - just an excellent defensive team when they get set up.

Like Darth, I'm not cheering for the team with drunk driver who during his 3-game suspension was replaced by the purse snatcher. It's less about getting 2 MVC teams into the dance than it is that the NIU program didn't have the stones to suspend Ogreseder for longer because of the timing of the crime.

About the only school in MVC that I could 'root' for is E. Only one I won't root for is ILL. All the rest I'm pretty much belligerent towards (or at best, neutral). However, given UNI's abhorrent stance on crime and pUNIshment, there is no way I could ever pull for them. DUI=3 games? Really? Purse snatching=same time? Honestly!

I like WSU a lot more than UNI this year. I think UNI plays really ugly basketball and their players look like dumb oafs. So, not only does it benefit the MVC, but I'd rather root for WSU anyway.

I'm not sure I can, but I'm going to try and cheer for WSU tomorrow. Not because I enjoy watching them at all, but because we need to get 2 MVC teams in the dance this year.

If UNI comes out and plays like they did today against Bradley, I'm not sure WSU can win.

Hopefully a good game on CBS tomorrow. Hopefully DU will join me in a Let's Go Drake chant sometime during the game.
