| Jared Vinoverski, a role player for the Lawrence H.S. basketball team, was on hand as his Lions upset top-ranked Manhattan at the state 6A tournament. Now it's on to the semis, where they'll probably get chewed up by one of the Wichita teams (I haven't looked at the bracket).
Edit: win over Wichita Heights puts them in state championship game v. Wichita SE. Record is something like 13-11. Ah, the district system in the state playoffs...
