| This little note was included at the end of Drake's email about the awards banquet.
The Bulldogs return three starters next season and will begin defense of their MVC title when Drake opens the 2008-09 campaign at home, versus Texas State. The game is tentatively slated for Nov. 14.

| This thread seems like a good place to keep track of the schedule. Minnesota-Duluth's website says they'll play an exhibition at Drake on 11/6. UMD is D2, their nickname is also the Bulldogs, and their website says former Drake standout Linda Sayavongchanh is their graduate assistant.

| | Not only is Linda the grad assistant, but Tanya Bauer was the head coach for last year. After a single season and a dismal record she jumped ship to be an assistant at SIU. I understand wanting to get out of Duluth, but not sure SIU is the best solution to that problem. |

| A friend of mine once told me that when you have a good sense that you are probably going overboard, you might just grab the nearest life preserver and pray that it works, rather than spend time looking for one that matches your wardrobe. In other words, Bauer may have known she was in trouble and decided to go hastily, rather than wait for "the perfect offer".
It could also be true that SIU was the only offer that she had.
