| That's the Rivals headline but when you read the article, he was only visiting today. Sorry for the tease.
Waukee forward Gabe Knutson had an excellent season on the basketball court as a junior. And with two schools already offering this standout scholarships, hewill be making a visit to Drake today. http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?highlight=creighton&CID=809010 |

| Tomorrow's Rivals headline:
KNUTSON HEADED TO FT MADISON PENITENTIARY for civics class field trip.
Knutson looks like a nice player. From what I can find, he's 6-8, averaged 19 ppg and 7 rpg last year as a junior while making 1st team all CIML, and was the star of a 19-5 Waukee team that made it to the quarterfinals of the state tournament.

| He's a nice player. A Bucky type player...but he doesn't get to shoot the three in high school.

| Sounds like a good fit in 09. Does anyone know the other schools making offers?

Truman State and South Dakota are the only schools that have offered, according to Rivals. Several MVC schools and Ivy League schools are looking at him, but have not yet offered.

| Gabe is smart as a whip --at least as bright as Emmenecker -- and comes from a terrific family. He's a talented player and he's going to get plenty of attention from other schools because of his academic ability and his basketball talent. Drake would be lucky to sign him.

| Thanks for the info. Lisa. I've heard the same type of comments from other people also. I know the previous staff had some nice repiore going with him and I doubt Coach P has had enough time to really get in the thick of it all. We'll see what develops. If fate brings it all together, sounds like he will be a big time fan favorite.
I will add that I'm not happy with Fedderson's twist on words. He probably shouldn't put misleading titles to his articles and interviews. Probably no harm done but still .... |

| I think he's gotten some attention from Ivy League schools.

| Yes, I agree about the headline. It is misleading. However, I think that there is not much harm done -- I don't think it will deter any recruiters from contacting Gabe, for example.
On another note, retaining Justin Ohl was a good move for many reasons, including situations like this one, where an established relationship exists with the program. It means not having to start from square one again.

... or vice versa. Still, it isn't fair to Gabe or Drake.
Would be nice for his family to spend about 8 minutes to get to his games. |
