| Grandpa (6/23/2008)
I haven't received the " about to be mailed" letter yet. But here is a link to the new Bulldog Club info. I'm not sure how it all fits together.
I think that's still last year's info. The front of it talks about the women's basketball team playing Tennessee in the NCAA tourney.

| Oops.
I'd have sworn that said 2008-2009 when I first looked at it. Sorry.
The older I get, the better I was. |

| mid-major fan (6/21/2008) Oh, and although it pains me to say this, Gutrencher is going to have to pay a "license fee" for his preferred seat in Section R.
Well, it's S or T and that's good enough for me.
Sorry, been out of the loop for a spell. So without having to do all the research, am I still ok as far as those sections are concerned? I mean, they are still GA in S and T, right....just a little higher in price? I'm fine with that, but I'm far from being a Todd Trump so.....I take what I can get. I still think they they are some of the best seats in the house(for being vocal anyway).
Hi Genki!! Got your message but have not called you yet. I'm still hoping to get to your area so we can paddle some lakes and maybe a river or two. The gas thing has me strapped at the moment.
Hey guys, check the Register on Monday in the IowaLife section. My wife and I rescued a dog on the river last week while canoeing and it's made big news(well, big-little news). pictures are up at paddlingiowa.com and my paddlin' blog in the outdoors section of the on-line paper.

| | The ticket info has been mailed. I think Clubb may have had some "second thoughts" due to internal concerns within the Drake administration and faculty so we shall see soon enough what the final plan is. |

| Came home for lunch and I've recv'd my info. I love it, it really doesn't change anything I'm already doing. What it does do is require the folks who only give the min. to step up to the plate or lose their seats. Pretty simple stuff. It is not the actual renewal material but rather just info. on the changes being made. It states in the letter the actual renewals will be mailed out in mid July.
It also has a "frequently asked questions" page. It states that there are less than 3,400 chair-back seats available and the demand has increased significantly over the past two seasons. Also it states that with this change, Drake has moved from being the cheapest tickets in the MVC to 9th place. That's pretty funny shat my friends!
Edit -
Also .. these new fees are not a licence fee but are a Bulldog Club fee. |

| | What I think is funny is that if you look at the Bulldog Club contributors list, no one in the top administration of Drake gives enough to sit where they sit. I bet that holds true for most of the faculty as well. |

| After not being on the site for a few months, I thought I should toss my 2 cents worth in as my ticket info came today. My 2 seats will cost me $996 for the season,as I have 2 of the best seats in the house, I will bite the bullet & pay it, but let there be no doubt, had last season not been what it was, there would have been no changes. With the entire lower bowl being $498 per seat, I see mucho hitting the fan. I do not know what percentage of the lower bowl sections are held by season ticket holders, but I believe many will balk at this. It simply prices a lot of people out of tickets.
One good thing I see coming from this is that less people will be buying seats for their kids. There are a few people close to me that have 2 or more pre-teen kids at each game & the only thing the kids get out of the games is a chance to catch a Spike from one of the cheerleaders.
Where do I get a look at the Bulldog Club contributors list? I have a number of Sr citizens surrounding me including Gov Ray & some retired faculty, most of whom are serious when it comes to sitting on their hands. Would be interesting to see a seating chart combined with a contributors list. Not that I am a big contributor, heck, I am not even an alum, but I sure make my share of noise & that is what the Dogs need & what they notice.
Its usually a good sign when you are hoarse after a game..... |
