| Hi everybody,
news from Frankfurt, Germany. As expected Adam won't be able to participate on the Skyliners' season opener on Sunday vs. Bonn due to his injury. But he is confident to return to practice next week. Two weeks earlier than expected. The healing proceeds very well and he has no pain pain anymore walking and even a little jogging is possible. But the foot still hurts when he puts pressure on it.
We're looking forward to see Adam get back on the court on september 28th, when the Skyliners are facing Cologne on their first road game of the 08/09 season. Hopefully his foot will endure the first week of real practice after three weeks of injury.
Until next week. Take care.

| I don't know about a shot but this place has a sandwich named after him.
"The Adam Emmenecker
The Missouri Valley Conferencemost valuable Player of 2008 loves this sandwich. It's big.. "really big".. just like all those really big shots Adam in the Bulldog's magical MVC Championship Season of 2008. Start with our huge tenderloin, add our Angus steak burger, top it with a slab of Texas brisket and apple wood bacon, finish it with buffalo chicken tender, smother this mountain with melted cheddar cheese, and white cheddar sauce, serve it with your favorite choice of side. This could hurt you! A sandwich fit for the MVP. 19.95

| We did split one three ways and didn't quite finish it .. very close though. I wasn't that hungry though, when I'm hungry, I can eat the a$$ out of a dead water buffalo. OK?
I'm hoping for an addition to the menu come March. Like the Velvet Melt or the Bucky Bucktastic or the Brentfabulous with heems and heems of meat.
Let me ask you Gordon .. who can eat more at a sitting, you or Big Bull?

No question hands down I own the table. All you have to do is look at us side by side or in my case side by side by side and you need ask no further questions.
As for the AE at Jethroes, I have been boycotting it since the name the patio after he who shall not be named. I prefer the Bulldog Burger at the library cafe. "Never eat anything bigger than your head!"

| Can't totally boycott Jethro. Too good for the Neighborhood. Although, The Mouth on the radio advertising weekend brunch is annoying.
What was Adam's injury anyway?
p.s. If relevant to anyone outside DesM ... Big Daddy finally shut down totally. Too bad.
p.s.s. Still boycotting 8 sports news.

That does not sound like a good thing for a basketball player. Too bad for Adam.
Thanks for updates.

All up to your choice, of course. Gotta admire persistence on important issues.
Guess you can go Uncle Wendell.

I seriously doubt that if there is a shot named after Adam that they got his consent because Adam isn't much of a drinker. Jethro's on the other hand had his consent, even though the sandwich they came up with is less than appetizing.

| That is it young lady! Your grounded! You pack your bags and your moving back to Michigan and YOU are GROUNDED until further notice. Day in and day out it is push push push and your parents have had it up to here! Give you an inch and you take a mile!
I think I'll make up a shot in Adam's name ... the Adam Bomb! Jager and Jack Daniels. YUCKY! Crime-a-netly .. I feel hung over just thinking about the taste of it. In Peoria they have a shot at the local pubs called the Emme-heartbreaker-necker!

| One day before his first professional basketball game in germany, Adam talks about his return to practice and the upcoming game in a frankfurt newspaper:
"After more than 4 weeks of injury, to me the game seems faster than before. But the first practices went quite well. It's getting better from day to day. 2 Days before my first game here in germany I'm not that nervous yet. But it all seems very surreal to me. I'm happy to play with Pascal Roller. There are so many things I can learn from him"
Even though Adam has only a contract until the end of october, Skyliners' director of sports Kamil Novak is assuming that he will probably stay with the Skyliners until the end of the season.
----------------------
I'll try to give you a little game resume of tomorrow's game by the end of the week, with a closer look on AE of course. Maybe there's a possibility for you guys to see the game per internet stream. I'll have to search for a stream and hopefully be able to post a link tomorrow, if anyone is interested. Tipoff is tomorrow 8pm local time here in germany. That's 1pm for you guys in Des Moines.
take care. |

| It's a slow day at work. After catching up on posts of the past week, I thought I would check how Adam did. I found this:
Deutsche Bank Skyliners break Eisbren Ballsporthalle Jinx With 65 To 55 Win - Oct 2, 2008 (by Miles Schmidt-Scheuber)
THE DEUTSCHE BANK SKYLINERS only had four days to recuperate from the thrilling win in Cologne, but managed an overall fine effort controlling the game and winning for the first time at home in the 2008-2009 season with a 65 to 55 win against The Eisbren Bremerhaven. The enthusiastic crowd of 4,390 saw a game of Skyliner power Basketball, as the fans were able to celebrate a win into the German reunion holiday. It marked the debut of new Skyliner American Adam Emmenecker, who didntt score, but did a fine job rebounding and showing his aggressive energy. I am pretty happy with my performance. It didnt really show in the stats, but I brought a lot of energy and tried to get people in position to succeed, explained Adam Emmenecker. Frankfurt won its second game in a row moving to 2-1. The Eisbren Bremerhaven lost their second game in a row and move to 1-2 in the standings. It was the second game in a row, that Bremerhaven shot miserably from three point land. They were a bit better shooting 7/25 against Frankfurt, because against Dsseldorf it was even worse at 5/29. At a combined 12/54 in two games from three point land, coach Sarunas Sakalauskas might want to rent NBA legend Larry Bird for some three point training. It was a game, where nothing went right for the Eisbren. Frankfurt simply outplayed us. They had more energy than we did and their defense was very strong. We missed too many free throws and for the second game in a row were cold from outside, commented American Marcus Slaughter. |
