| According to Chicagohoops.com, this young man is considering Drake.
link
"I am just being patient with everything so I can make sure and pick the right school for me. As of now my top schools are Nevada, DePaul, Northwestern, Northern Iowa, Drake, Illinois State, and Cal Poly.
"I want to go to a school that I can go in as a freshman and play right away. Not saying I have to start but I do want playing time. I want to have a good relationship with the coaching staff and team. I want to get a good education as well."
Sounds like Drake is the right place for him. There will certainly be playing time available immediately for a point guard. The coaching staff and team are great people, and he'll get a good education.

Digging up this player's Scout profile, he has Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford, and Vanderbilt on his list of schools. Looks like he's strong in the classroom and on the court. Those are the kinds of players who thrive at Drake. Drake isn't on his Scout profile, but hopefully Phelps is still paying attention to him.

More importantly, hopefully the young man is still paying attention to Drake. FWIW, his scout profile was last updated in May, so a lot could have changed since then. As of 2 weeks ago, an article on Chicagohoops.com quoted him as saying that Drake was one of his top schools.

| Madison is an All-Star in the classroom as well as on the court.
Class rank: 4 of 400 students
That would be great if we could get him together with Emmenecker. |

At the end, they also mention Threloff, Rice and Evans, who we all have heard about. They also say that Drake is in pursuit of Carlton Guyton, a juco guard.

| Welcome aboard General Karl !!!
Sun Times - "Karl Madison, 5-10, PG, Springfield (Lanphier) ... A big-time scoring lead guard who can put points on the board with a nice bag of tricks offensively. He gets to the basket, hits mid-range jumpers and his range extends out to 20 feet..."

| Fabulous start. Exactly the kind of player that will thrive in Coach P's system:
"Madison is a left-handed point guard who falls into the "true" PG category. He plays under control and can run teams who are all set play systems, to set play-motion game, and up tempo. He is a floor leader and playmaker who plays under control. He has good court vision and awareness to finding the open man. Madison can also hit the open 3-pointer, has a solid pull up game and will take the ball to the basket. He must finish better at the basket as well as distribute when he gets deep into the lane. He is a very good student."
Now every big and wing who is looking at Drake knows they will have a PG who can get them the ball!
Tomorrow has arrived and the sun is up. |

| Welcome aboard Mr Madison - you made a great decision that you won't regret. And Coach Phelps is about to add more great recruits to the class to make it a top Valley class.
The linked article mentioned a Juco named Carlton Guyton, do we know about him? |

| OldDogII (9/9/2009) The linked article mentioned a Juco named Carlton Guyton, do we know about him?
I've found a little info. He's a long, athletic guard from Chicago's south suburbs. He apparently lit it up at a juco showcase earlier this summer.
